Mel’s story with The Lumber Yard reads like a slice of Americana.  After serving his country in the military, Mel started with The Lumber Yard in 1971 as a warehouse worker/driver, eventually learning the building materials business from the ground up. Mel worked his way into a number of management positions and then to upper management. In 2002, Mel was named to Vice President of Operations for The Lumber Yard.  Mel has served his community as well, spending 12 years as chairman of the Adams County Planning Commission.
